Post OCD linked to canine gene
Friend sent me this link and I thought this was pretty cool.

I wonder if this genetic link is breed related or flank sucking related... Still think there is HUGE possibilities with this and animal compulsive disorders.

I'm pretty sure Patton has OCD, but it's not a sucking one...

I just glanced through the article, and really had a glimmer of hope for a moment. I wonder tho, what other behaviors dogs exhibit that are considered OCD.

Most behaviorists, etc. will define canine OCD behaviors as anything that becomes repetitive to the point it affects the animal's well being. For example: tail chasing/spinning, excessive licking (can actually start from something like an allergy), flank sucking (like in the article), fly snapping. Some dogs can develop a unique compulsive disorder, but these are the most common.

Interesting find.

I've only had dogs with excessive compulsive stupidity but I don't think that counts.
